已更新:2019年12月25日

Speaking of traditional Chinese snacks, yolk pastries will absolutely pop into our minds. The egg yolk pastries are not only sweet but crispy, which is what we all understand; however, most people do not know that making a homemade yolk pastry is by no means a difficult task as it looks like. Trust me! Only by following the three main steps below can you make this tasty snack on your own without any complexity.

First, it is necessary to prepare all the ingredients completely. These include water dough and oil dough, high protein flour, plain flour, shortening, sugar, and water. As for the sweet filling, red bean paste and egg yolks are the main characters. Besides, never forget the sesame for the decoration on the top of the pastry. After the preparation is done, you are totally ready for the next step!

Second, we are going to combine the ingredients and finish the unbaked egg yolk pastry. To begin with, you have to mix the ingredients together for the water dough and oil dough respectively. Next, wrap one portion of oil dough inside one portion of water dough, roll the whole dough into long flat piece and then roll it up into a Swiss roll. After repeating the rolling part for two times, wrap the filling, the red bean paste with an egg yolk inside, into the dough and shape it into a good round.

Third, in order to make your egg yolk pastries not plain but eye-catching, we are going to decorate the pastries with some egg yolks and sesame. As you start, get a brush to glaze on the surface of egg yolk pastries with egg yolk pulp. Afterwards, sprinkle some sesame onto the pastries. The sesame can give the egg yolk pastries a better look, smell, and taste. Finally, it’s time for baking! Put your egg yolk pastries into the oven preheated at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes. When they turn golden brown, you get your own handmade and tasty egg yolk pastries!

To sum up, as long as you follow the three main steps, including preparation, combination, and decoration, you can pleasingly wait in front of your oven for the tasty egg yolk pastries. It may be time-consuming and effort-requiring, but you will never regret it once you see your finished result. You can both get a sense of achievement and enjoy a tasty snack healthier and cleaner than that sold in the stores. Therefore, do not hesitate. Just start with me and bake your own egg yolk pastries!
